Techniques

1. Clutching Feathers (Front left hand hair grab) [Watch Video]

1. Standing naturally, step back toward 6 o’clock with your left foot into a right neutral bow (facing 12 o’clock). Simultaneously pin your opponents left hand with your left hand as you thrust a right vertical middle-knuckle fist to your opponent’s left arm pit. (This action should cause your opponent to bend forward.)

2. As your opponent begins to bend over toward you, pivot into a right forward bow (facing 12:00) as you deliver a left thrusting heel palm strike to your opponent’s jaw. Simultaneous “with” a right extended outward block to the inside of your opponent’s left forearm. (Your opponent’s head may now pop back.)

3. Deliver a right inward diagonal raking back knuckle strike while you pivot back to a right neutral bow (facing l2:00).

4. Right front crossover and cover out toward 7:30.

2. Triggered Salute (Front right hand direct push)[Watch Video]

1. Standing naturally while your opponent pushes your left shoulder with his right hand, step forward with your right foot into a right neutral bow (between 11:00 and 12:00). In the course of this action, buckle the inside of your opponent’s right knee with your right knee. Thrust forward with a heel palm strike while pinning your opponent’s hand to your chest.

2. Slide your right hand down your opponent’s right arm while forming the shape of a crane (anchor elbow) and hook your opponent’s right arm down toward 5:30. ROUND THE CORNER with your right arm as you immediately deliver a right inward horizontal elbow strike to your opponent’s Chest.

3. Dance of Death (Front straight right punch, right leg forward)[Watch Video]

1. Standing naturally, step forward toward 10:30 with your left foot into a left neutral bow (facing 12:00). Simultaneously deliver a left inward block to the outside of your opponent’s right punch (ending at or above the elbow) as your right arm hangs naturally to the right side of your body.)

2. Immediately pivot into a left forward bow (facing 12:00). Strike with a right punch to your opponents chest.

3. Immediately step through with your right foot into a right neutral bow (facing 12:00), while your right inward elbow strikes horizontally to your opponent’s right lower ribcage. Slide your left hand down and behind your opponent’s right leg, pulling back on the ankle to take him to the ground.

4. Thrusting Salute (Front right step through kick) [Watch Video]

1. While standing naturally, step back with your right foot at 4:30 into a left neutral bow, as you deliver a left downward block to the inside of your opponent’s right kicking leg.

2. Immediately execute a right front snap ball kick to your opponent.

3. Plant your right foot forward and toward 10:30 into a right neutral bow (between your opponent’s legs and checking his right knee with your right knee). Simultaneously thrust a right torquing heel palm strike as your left positional check relocates near your right ribcage.

4. Right front crossover, covering out toward 4:30.

5. Gift of Destruction (Handshake or cross hand grab) [Watch Video]

1. With your opponent grabbing your right wrist with his right hand, hop forward and slightly to your left toward 11 o’clock, with your left foot, as your right hand JERKS your opponent’s right hand toward, and diagonally down past your right hip.

2. Use your left hand to help pull your opponent’s arm, as you deliver a right knee kick to your opponent.

3. As you plant your right foot forward into a right neutral bow, buckle the inside of your opponent’s right knee with your right knee, while delivering a right inward elbow strike.

6. Locking Horns (Front headlock) [Watch Video]

1. With your feet in line with each other and your body bent forward, step forward with your right foot toward 11 o’clock into a right wide kneel stance between your opponent’s legs, as you deliver a right underhand reverse handsword while simultaneously having your left hand check just above your opponent’s right knee. During this action turn your chin to the left and tuck it against your chest to prevent your opponent from cutting off your air supply.

2. Start to clear our opponent’s lock by elbowing up with your right arm.

3. Shuffle forward while pushing down with your right hand to finish clearing your opponent’s lock.

4. Right front crossover, covering out toward 7:30.

7. Lone Kimono (Front left hand lapel grab) [Watch Video]

1. Standing naturally, step back toward 6 o’clock with your left foot into a right neutral bow (facing 12:00). Deliver a right upward forearm strike against his left elbow to remove your opponents grab.

2. Then circle your right arm over and down (counterclockwise) with an inward-downward strike against your opponent’s left forearm. Finish with your right palm up, as your left hand is checking high. Make sure that your opponent’s left arm is driven diagonally and down to your left. (this move should now cancel your opponent’s Width and Height Zones.)

3. Strike your opponent with a right heel palm strike to the chest to push them away.

4. Right front crossover, covering out toward 7:30.

8 . Glancing Salute (Front right hand cross push) [Watch Video]

1. Standing naturally while your opponent pushes your right shoulder with his right hand, step forward and slightly to your left (11:00) with your left foot into a left neutral bow (facing 12:00). Immediately pivot to your right into a right forward bow toward 3:00 as your right arm pins your opponent’s right wrist to the right side of your chest. Simultaneous with this action have your left inward vertical forearm strike to the outside of your opponent’s arm.

2. Pivot to your left (toward 12 o’clock) into a left forward bow as your left hand pins your opponent’s right arm to his body while simultaneously striking to your opponent’s jaw with a right thrusting heel palm strike.

3. Have your right hand circle to the right of your opponent’s face as it then hooks around to the back of his neck. With your right now formed in the shape of a crane, immediately pull your opponent’s head down and toward the ground (while ANCHORlNG your right elbow.) Simultaneously have your right knee kick to your opponent’s stomach.

4. Plant your right foot forward into a right neutral bow, as your right knee checks the inside of your opponent’s right knee. Simultaneously deliver a right inward elbow strike to your opponent’s chest to push him away and possibly knock him to the ground.

9. Five Swords (Front right step through roundhouse punch) [Watch Video]

1. While standing naturally, have your right foot step forward into a right neutral bow (facing 12 o’clock) checking the inside of your opponent’s right knee with your right knee. In the process execute a right inward block to the inside of your opponent’s right forearm, while using your left hand to check high.

2. Immediately strike to the right side of your opponent’s neck with a right outward handsword. (This action helps to nullify the Height, Width and Depth Zones of your opponent.)

3. Pivot into a right forward bow (facing 12:00) as you execute a left heel palm strike to your opponent’s head.

4. Having caused your opponent’s head to move away from you will cause his midsection to jut forward. Take advantage of this anticipated response by pivoting into a right neutral bow, as you strike with a right uppercut punch to your opponent’s stomach. At the same time, bring your left hand to your right shoulder, palm down and open.

5. With your opponent now bending over, immediately have your left foot slide counterclockwise (toward 4:30) into a right forward bow (while now facing 10:30), as your left outward handsword strikes to the left side of your opponent’s neck. Your right hand acts as  positional check against any potential danger from your opponent’s left arm.

6. Without hesitation and while pivoting into a right neutral bow, execute a right inward handsword to the back of your opponent’s neck. Your left hand is an interim hook around the left side of your opponent’s neck, pulling his head down if necessary. At the time your handsword strikes, your left hand should be checking low.

7. Right front crossover, and cover out toward 4:30.

10. Buckling Branch (Front left step through straight kick) [Watch Video]

1. While standing naturally with both feet together, step slightly back and to your right with your right foot toward 4:30 into a left neutral bow. Simultaneously block your opponent’s left kick (from the outside) with a left downward block as your right hand (clenched, and palm up) cocks to your right hip. Instantly recoil your left hand counterclockwise into a vertical position as a positional check.

2. With your opponent’s back turning toward you, deliver a right snap ball kick to your opponent’s groin (entering from the rear).

3. Plant your right foot forward (again toward 10:30) into a right front twist stance, and deliver a left knife-edge kick to the inside and back of your opponent’s right knee (keeping both of your hands open and in a defensive position). (This kick should buckle your opponent to his knees.)

4. Have your left kick flow into a left front crossover, covering out toward 4:30.

11. Scraping Hoof (Full Nelson) [Watch Video]

1. Immediately step out with your left foot to a horse stance as you drive both elbows down to break the Full Nelson and avoid being picked up.

2. Having broken the Full Nelson thrust both of your fists toward the ground (to help free you from your opponent’s grasp and to pin his arms to your body). Simultaneous with this action, slide your left foot toward your right foot, as you straighten your knees, back, and neck into a full upright position.

3. Immediately bend your left knee (REVERSE MARRlAGE OF GRAVITY) as you deliver a right back side scooping heel kick to your opponent’s left inner knee. Then with the knife-edge of your right foot, kick to your opponent’s right shin on the way to stomping on his right instep with the heel of your right foot. (This sequence of action should buckle your opponent’s legs as well as move his legs outward.)

4. Repeat the same process of the second move on the left side.

5. Right front cross and cover toward 10:30.

12. Grip of Death (Left flank right arm headlock) [Watch Video]

1. With your opponent applying a headlock from your left side, step forward and to your left (to 10:30) with your right foot into a right close kneel stance, while turning your head to the left and tucking your chin against your chest. Simultaneously deliver a right hammerfist to your opponent’s groin and a left hammerfist to your opponent’s kidney. (This action should buckle your opponent.)

2. Circle your left arm over your opponent’s right shoulder and have the fingers of your left hand press under your opponent’s nose (or depending upon circumstances, have your left hand grab your opponent’s hair) to pull your opponent’s head back, using his shoulder and the back of his shoulder as the fulcrum.

3. Immediately pivot into a left forward bow toward 6 o’clock. In the process, thrust a right heel palm strike to your opponent’s chin. Simultaneously execute a left SLIDING CHECK down your opponent’s right arm, ending at the elbow.

4. Pivot back to a left neutral bow. Left front crossover, covering out toward 10:30.

13. Crossing Talons (Front right cross wrist grab) [Watch Video]

1. With your opponent’s right hand grabbing your right wrist, counter-grab his right wrist with your right hand as your left foot steps toward 1:30 and in front of your opponent into a left neutral bow. Simultaneously strike your opponent’s right elbow with a left inward vertical forearm while your right hand pulls in, forward, and past your right hip.

2. Continue to pull your opponent’s arm to your right while using your left forearm to force your opponent’s head down.

3. Immediately deliver a left outward elbow strike to your opponent’s head as you pull his arm to the right with your right hand.

4. Pivot in place into a right forward bow to 6 o’clock to throw your opponent to the ground.

5. Left front crossover, covering out toward 7:30.

14. Repeating Mace (Front step through lunging left hand push) [Watch Video]

1. Standing naturally, have your left foot slide back toward 4:30 into a right neutral bow (facing 12:00). Simultaneously have your left hand hook (left palm is up like a waiter carrying a tray) on top and to the outside of your opponent’s left elbow as you deliver a right inward raking hammerfist to your opponent’s left kidney. Immediately loop a right outward back knuckle strike to your opponent’s left ribcage (as you settle).

2. Immediately shift your weight onto your left leg and deliver a right downward looping roundhouse kick (using your right instep) to the back of your opponent’s knee. (This action should buckle his left knee and force him onto his knees.)

3. From the Point of Contact of your right kick, execute a right front crossover, covering out toward 4:30.

15. Shielding Hammer (Front step through hooking left punch) [Watch Video]

1. Standing naturally, step back with your left foot toward 6 o’clock into a right neutral bow (facing 12 o’clock) as you deliver a right extended outward block to the inside of your opponent’s left forearm. Your left hand should be in a POSITIONAL CHECK off of your right ribcage.

2. Immediately deliver a right inward raking back knuckle strike diagonally in and down across the bridge of your opponent’s nose (toward 10:30).

3. Shuffle forward while continuing the clockwise motion with your right hand and follow-up with a right horizontal dipping outward elbow strike to your opponent’s solar plexus. Your left hand should be a high positional check.

4. Right front crossover, covering out toward 7:30.

16. Striking Serpent’s Head (Front bear hug-arms free) [Watch Video]

1. Drop back with your right foot toward 6 o’clock into a left neutral bow (facing 12:00). Simultaneously hook your left hand around and back of your opponent’s head so that your left inner knuckle strikes to your opponent’s left temple, while your right hand simultaneously cocks into a half fist at chest level (palm up above your opponent’s arms).

2. Continue the action by having your left hand grab and pull your opponent’s hair back (grab above the forehead). Simultaneously pivot into a left forward bow (facing 12 o’clock) and execute a right snapping heel palm strike to your opponent’s chin. Immediately return to your left neutral bow after the half fist strike. (Your opponent should drop back and fall to the ground.)

3. Left front crossover, covering out toward 4:30.

17. Locked Wing (Rear hammerlock) [Watch Video]

1. With your opponent locking your right arm, step back to your right with your left foot (toward 4:30) into a right neutral bow (with your head still facing 12 o’clock) as your right hand counter-grabs your opponent’s right wrist. (Try to place your left leg inside as well as against your opponent’s right leg).

2. Immediately pivot your entire body counterclockwise into a left neutral bow (or horse depending on circumstance) (facing 6:00), while delivering a left outward elbow strike to your opponent’s jaw.

3. Continue the motion of your left arm over and under your opponent’s right shoulder, locking your arm around his upper arm.

4. Hook your right hand behind your opponent’s neck and immediately pivot in place to a right forward bow to 12 o’clock. Simultaneously push under his arm with your left arm as you pull out and down with your right hooking hand. This should throw your opponent to the ground.

5. Cross and cover out to 4:30.

18. Obscure Wing (Right flank left hand shoulder grab) [Watch Video]

1. Standing naturally with your opponent’s left hand grabbing your right shoulder, have your right foot drop toward 3 o’clock into a horse stance (while looking at your opponent). Simultaneously deliver a right back elbow strike to your opponent’s solar plexus as your left hand pins and checks your opponent’s left hand to your right shoulder.

2. Deliver a right back hammerfist to your opponent’s groin.

3. Immediately follow up with a right snapping obscure elbow strike to your opponent’s chin, making sure that your right arm follows the CONTOUR of your opponent’s body.

4. Right front crossover. covering out toward 10:30.

19. Reversing Mace (Front left step through straight punch) [Watch Video]

1. From a right neutral bow, slide your left foot counterclockwise toward 4:30 while remaining in a right neutral bow. Execute a right inward and left outward parry combination to the outside of your opponent’s left punch. Your left hand finishes palm up and on top of your opponent’s left arm (like a waiter carrying a tray at or above his left elbow). Without any loss of motion, your right inward parry continues to circle counterclockwise and becomes a right outward back knuckle strike to your opponent’s left lower ribcage.

2. Immediately shift your weight onto your left leg and deliver a right downward looping roundhouse kick to the back of your opponent’s left knee. This kick is executed, with the instep of your right foot. (This move should buckle your opponent’s left knee toward the ground.)

3. From the Point of Contact of your right kick execute a right front crossover, covering out toward 4:30.

20.Thrusting Prongs (Front bear hug – arms pinned) [Watch Video]

1. Step back with your right foot toward 6 o’clock into a left forward bow (facing l2 o’clock). (You will probably modify it because of the pressure of the bear hug). Have only your right foot move back and not the upper body. Simultaneously thrust both of your thumbs (keeping thumbs together) up and into your opponent. (Your opponent should bend forward at the waist as well as move his feet back and away from you.)

2. Now strike your opponent with your right knee as your left hand circles over and on top of your opponent’s right arm (forming the shape of a crane) and pins (with the assistance of your anchored left elbow) your opponent’s right arm to you. Simultaneous with the above two actions, cock your right hand to your right hip as a clearing check of your opponent’s left arm as well as in preparation for the next strike.

3. Immediately deliver a right knife edge kick to the inside of your opponent’s left shin. (This action should force your opponent’s left leg outward.)

4. Plant your right foot toward 10:30 as you strike your opponent’s chest with a right horizontal elbow strike.

5. Right front crossover, covering out toward 7:30.

21.Twisted Twig (Front wrist lock) [Watch Video]

1. Standing naturally with both hands of your opponent applying a wrist lock on your right wrist, step forward and to your left (toward 11 o’clock) with your right foot into a right neutral bow to buckle the inside of your opponent’s right knee with your right knee. Simultaneous with this action, deliver a right upward elbow strike to your opponent’s solar plexus and/or jaw. Your left hand is placed on top of your opponent’s right wrist for purposes of checking. (This action is to freeze your opponent’s intended action.)

2. Pivot counterclockwise into a horse stance as you deliver a right back elbow strike to your opponent’s solar plexus. (Your opponent should bend forward at the waist.)

3. Follow up with a right back downward hammerfist as you pivot into a right reverse bow. Have your left hand check at shoulder height. (Your opponent should bend even further.)

4. Right front crossover, covering out toward 7:30.

22. Obscure Sword (Right flank let hand shoulder grab) [Watch Video]

1. Standing naturally, step directly forward to 1:30 with your left foot into a left neutral bow (facing straight ahead) with your right handsword cocked to your heart (palm up). Simultaneously pin your opponent’s right hand with your left hand to your right shoulder. This should disturb your opponent’s balance, shift his weight forward, and check the use of his left hand. (Be sure your opponent does not see either of your hands.)

2. Immediately pivot toward 4:30 into a right forward bow while delivering a right outward handsword to your opponent’s face. This should result in your opponent’s head being driven back and away from you.)

3. Follow up with a left front snap ball kick and plant your left foot back to your Point of Origin with your hands in a fighting position.

4. Right front crossover, covering out toward 10:30.

23. Raining Claw (Front right uppercut punch) [Watch Video]

1. Standing naturally, step back toward 6 o’clock with your left foot into a right neutral bow (facing 12 o’clock) and deliver a right inward downward block to the forearm of your opponent’s right uppercut. Your left hand is guarding high to protect your head area.

2. Shuffle forward (push-drag) and immediately shoot a left inward overhead claw to your opponent’s face while your right elbow stays close to your body. (This strike may bring your opponent’s head forward and down.)

3. Have your right fist circle clockwise and execute a right vertical back knuckle thrust to your opponent’s face. Your left hand now checks low. (This action should snap your opponent’s head back and away.)

4. Right front crossover, covering our toward 7:30.

24. Crashing Wings (Rear bear hug – arms free) [Watch Video]

1. Step to your right (toward 3 o’clock) with your right foot into a horse stance (facing 12 o’clock). Simultaneously strike down with both of your elbows against your opponent’s forearms (after having cocked your elbows). (The intent here is to cause pain to your opponent’s arms and to loosen his grip.)

2. Have your left foot meet your right foot (close cat) as your left and right arms cock to the right side of your waist (right palm up left palm facing you).

3. Have your left foot then go around and behind your opponent’s right leg (toward 7:30) into a left reverse bow.

4. Pivot into a left neutral bow toward 7:30 while striking with a left outward elbow to your opponent’s chest.

5. Continue to pivot counterclockwise into a left forward bow as you continue through with your left elbow strike and follow with a right downward hammerfist strike to your opponent’s chest as you settle into your stance (This should drive your opponent to the ground.)

6. Pivot back into a left neutral bow. Left front crossover, covering out toward 12:00.

Kicking Set 1 [Watch Video]

OPENING: ATTENTION STANCE. BOW, DROP TO A MEDITATING HORSE STANCE.

When executing The KICKING SET, have both of your hands up and in front of you in a guarding position.

SIDE I: Moves on this side are to be done while basically facing 12 o’clock

1. From your meditating horse stance, have your right foot drop back toward 6 o’clock into a left neutral bow, facing 12 o’clock.

2. Execute a right step through front snap ball kick toward 12 o’clock and plant your right foot forward into a right neutral bow, again facing 12 o’clock.

3. Immediately move into a left front crossover and deliver a right knife edge kick toward 12 o’clock, planting your right foot forward into a right neutral bow facing 12 o’clock.

4. Shuffle forward with a right roundhouse kick, Toward 12 o’clock, planting your right foot forward into a right neutral bow while still facing 12 o’clock.

5. Without any hesitation. pivot counterclockwise, in-place, and deliver a left spinning back heel kick toward 12 o’clock, planting your left foot forward into a left neutral bow facing 12 o’clock.

6. Have your right foot slide clockwise and back toward 9 o’clock so That you conclude SIDE 1 while facing 3 o’clock in a left neutral bow.

SIDE II: Moves on this side are to be done while basically facing 3 o’clock.

7. From your left neutral bow, deliver a right step through knife-edge kick Toward 3 o’clock, planting your right foot forward into a right neutral bow facing 3 o’clock.

Elbow Set [Watch Video]

OPENING: ATTENTION STANCE, DROP TO A MEDITATING HORSE STANCE, DROP TO TRAINING HORSE STANCE.
1. Right upward elbow with closed fist passing the right ear, palm in.
2. Right back elbow with fist closed fist passing the waist, palm up.
3. Right inward horizontal elbow at shoulder height with closed fist ending at left shoulder, palm down.
4. Right outward horizontal spearing elbow with fist closed at the right shoulder, palm down.
5. Right downward, outward looping elbow ending outside the right shoulder, with right hand open, palm out.
6. Right inward, downward looping elbow ending in front of the sternum with hand open, palm to 3 o’clock.
7. Right outward dipping elbow with hand open, palm down.
8. Right obscure elbow to the rear, with hand open and torquing counter-clockwise.
