Techniques

1. Delayed Sword [Watch video]

(Front-right hand lapel grab)

1. Step back with your left foot to 6 o’clock in to a right neutral bow stance with a right inward block to the inside of your opponent’s wrist.

2. Slide your right foot into a cat stance.

3. Right front snap kick to your opponent’s groin.

4. Plant your right foot back to the right neutral bow as you strike with a right outward hand sword.

2. Alternating Maces [Watch video]

(Front-two-hand push)

1. As your opponent pushes you with both hands, step back with your left foot to 6 o’clock into a right neutral bow. At the same time, block inward and down with your right arm to both of your opponent’s arms.

2. Let your right arm drape across your opponent’s arms as you pivot to a left forward bow and punch with the left hand to the opponent’s solar plexus.

3. Drape your left arm across your opponent’s arms as your right hand rolls over your left into a right vertical backknuckle to your opponent’s nose.

Cross and cover out to your left.

3. Sword of Destruction [Watch video]

(Front-left hook punch)

1. Step back with you left foot to 6 o’clock into a right neutral bow as you block your opponent’s left punch with a right outward blcok.

2. Slide your right foot to a cat stance.

3. Right front snap kick to your opponent’s groin.

4. Plant your foot from the kick with a right inward hand sword.

Cross and cover to your left.

4. Deflecting Hammer [Watch video]

(Front-right front thrust kick)

1. Step back and to the left between 6 and 9 o’clock with your left foot in to a right neutral bow as you do a downward block to the outside your opponent’s right kick.

2. Shuffle forward and right toward 12 and 3 o’clock using your left hand to pin your opponent’s right arm to his body.

3. Strike with the right elbow

5. Captured Twigs [Watch video]

(Rear-bear hug with arms pinned)

1. With opponent grabbing around your arms from behind, step to the left to 9 o’clock with your left foot into a horse stance as you pin your opponent’s hands to your chest with your left hand and strike with a back right hammerfist to your opponent’s groin.

2. Pull your right foot into a cat stance as you push your opponent’s hands apart with you left hand and turn sideways to make yourself wider. At the same time, push into your opponent’s chest with your right elbow.

3. Stomp on your opponent’s left foot as you push down with your right hand.

4. Push your opponent’s hand apart.

6. Grasp of Death [Watch video]

(Left flank-right arm headlock)

1.Tuck your chin down and into your left shoulder.  Grab your opponent’s right wrist with your right hand and pull down. Do this as you step forward to 12 o’clock into a right close kneel.  Your left hand grabs and pinches the inside of your opponent’s right leg.

2. Bring your opponent’s right arm over your head and against your chest.

3. Bar your opponent’s arm with your left elbow behind his right elbow.

4. Step back with your right foot as you push with your left arm and pull with your right hand to force your opponent to the ground.

7. Checking the Storm [Watch video]

(Front-right step through overhead club)

1. As your opponent steps in with an overhead club strike, step to you right to 3 o’clock with your right foot into a left cat stance facing between 9 and 12 o’clock.  As you move, execute a left upward block to the inside of your opponent’s right wrist.

2. Immediate a left front snap kick to your opponent’s groin.

3. Plant your left foot forward and strike your opponent’s right knee with a right knife edge kick.

4. Plant your right foot down into a right neutral bow.

8. Mace of Aggression [Watch video]

(Front-two hand lapel grab-pulling in)

1. As your opponent grabs the front of you shirt and pulls you toward him, pin his hands to your chest with your left hand. Immediately stomp with your right foot to his left foot and hit with your right forearm down and across both his arms.

2. Continue to push with your right arm and hook his hands away and to your left with your left hand.

3. Use both hands to push your opponent down and away from you.

9. Attacking Mace [Watch video]

(Front-right step through straight punch)

1. Step back with your right foot to 6 o’clock into a left neutral bow stance as you do a left inward block to the outside of your opponent’s right punch.

2. Throw a right punch under your opponent’s right arm.

3. Immediately circle your right arm over and around your opponent’s arm and grab his right wrist.

4. Pull the right arm down and past your right hip as you rotate clockwise until you are facing 6 o’clock and push behind your opponent’s right shoulder; pushing him past and down to the ground.

10. Sword and Hammer [Watch video]

(Right flank left-hand shoulder grab)

1. As your opponent grabs your right shoulder with his left hand, step to 3 o’clock with your right foot into a  horse stance.  As you do this, pin your opponent’s hand to your shoulder with your left hand. Immediately strike to your opponent with a right outward hand sword or hammerfist.

2. Immediately strike your opponent’s groin with a downward right hammerfist.

RETURN TO A MEDITATING HORSE AND
CONCLUDE WITH THE HEAD UP AND EYES OPEN.

1. Your left foot drops back toward 6:00 into a right neutral bow facing 12:00, while executing a right inward block simultaneous ‘with’ a left back elbow strike.

2. Your right foot drops back toward 6:00 into a left neutral bow facing 12:00. while executing a left inward block simultaneous ‘with’ a right back elbow strike.

3. Cover (by moving your right foot toward 3:00) into a left neutral bow facing 9:00. while executing left vertical outward block simultaneous ‘with’ a right back elbow strike.

4. Your left foot drops book toward 3:00 into a right neutral bow facing 9:00. while executing a right vertical outward block simultaneous ‘with’ a left back elbow strike.

5. Cover (by moving your right foot toward 9:00) into a left neutral bow facing 3:00, while executing a left upward block simultaneous ‘with’ a right back elbow strike.

6. Your left drops back toward 9:00 into a right neutral bow facing 3:00), while executing a right upward block simultaneous ‘with’ a left back elbow strike.

Blocking Set 1- Star Block [Watch video]

Sequence of blocks that are as follows: (upward. inward. extended
outward, downward. re—cock. pushdown)

1. Right upward block for a left overhead club attack or chop.

2. Right inward block for a right punch to the body.

3. Right extended outward block for a left punch to the face.

4. Right outside downward block for a left kick to the groin.

5. Right hand re-cocks (a right back elbow block) to your right hip for
a left roundhouse kick to your right kidney.

6. Right push-down block for a right knee kick to the groin.

Repeat with left side
